| Alison Attenborough is
a chef, food stylist and recipe developer who has worked extensively
in America and Europe. Based in New York, she works on a wide range
of projects, including TV, film, commercials, cookbooks and magazines.
Alison is perhaps best known for her work in Food and Wine Magazine,
House and Garden, Organic Style, Real Simple and New York Magazine.
Alison studied home economics in London and went on to cater parties
for a variety of corporate and private clients, including Barings
Bank, the Booker Company (of the famous literary prize), and country
house shooting parties. Her interest in food styling was piqued
at age 16, when she first became aware of how gorgeous images of
fine cuisine can be. After college, she worked on a series of books
called The Good Cook with writers such as Jane Grigson and Richard
Olney. Alison moved to the US 14 years ago, first to Los Angeles,
where she worked as a private caterer for clients including Robert
Redford, Barry Diller and Lisa Kudrow, and later to New York. During
this time she gained experience in what would become her passion:
food styling. Her success in this area led to a wide range of opportunities,
including work on TV (Oprah); film (Titanic, Wild Wild West and,
oddly, miniature food for Gulliver's Travels); advertising (Absolut,
Ciroc, Petrossian Caviar, MacDonalds.)
In addition, Alison can provide
a beautiful, south-west facing kitchen in Chelsea that is available
for rental and can easily be adapted
to suit client needs. For more information, please email Alison.
